Commerical Cable - Rebuilding The Canso Station

The Commercial Cable Rehabilitation Society is engaged in an ambitious program to:

• Rehabilitate the building and site in a manner that captures its unique architecture and heritage while incorporating modern amenities;
• Although, the building will not be a museum it will house exhibits and act as an interpretation centre reflecting the role Commercial Cable once played in Global communications;
• Provide a self sustaining building that will house incremental activities to the community that would benefit the area by providing employment opportunities and acting as an economic stimulus to the area.

Commercial Cable Rehabilitation Society is raising approximately $2.5 million in a public and private-sector campaign to realize the dream of preservation of local heritage and a piece of global history, a more vibrant local economy with opportunities for people to have sustainable livelihoods, especially youth.
